The Shimadzu column oven CTO-10ASvp was developed to maintain the tempera­ture of the LC system's column and flow line at a constant level, in order to provide heightened analysis reproducibility and separation performance. This unit is a block heating type thermostatic chamber for Shimadzu high performance liquid chro­matography system.

Only half the size of earlier models thanks to a new design, this compact unit Packs heating and cooling mechanisms that provide a wide temperature control range. Besides this column oven, a high performance liquid chromatography system requires, at a minimum, a pumping unit, injector, column, and detector. Note that each of these is purchased separately. • This unit is a thermostatic chamber whose purpose is to maintain the column's temperature at a constant level. lt is able to house two 25cm columns and a man­ual injector.
• Provided with cooling mechanisms as well as heating mechanisms, the unit is able control the column temperature to as low as 15t below room temperature.
• A preheater incorporated in the heat block in the unit's interior regulates the mobile phase's temperature Prior to entry of the mobile phase into the column. Since it surrounds the column, the heating block is able to effectively control the temperature of the column as well as that of the mobile phase.
• The unit has a CPU, which can run the unit according to a Time Program without connection to a system controller, while use of a system controller permits even finer control, like starting analysis at the timing of temperature stable, and stop­ping analysis when liquid leakage or other troubles are detected.
• Safety is assured by a fuse that shuts off power automatically if the temperature
  rises abnormally high or if leakage of mobile phase is detected inside the oven.
