DESCRIPTION

DANI HSS 86.50 Head Space sampler is a single compact cabinet including:

·        The Sampling System

·        The Programmer

·        The Pneumatic System

The Sampling System

The sampling system is consisting of three main devices:

·        The sample vial tray

·        The thermostated oven

·        The Head space gas transfer device

The sample vial tray

The sample vial tray with 44 seats, is Iocated an the left side of the cabinet and it is driven by a DC motor. The standard vial volume is 20 ml, but the use of special adapters allows the sampling of 10 mI volume vials.

The thermostated oven

The thermostated oven contains a six seat rotating plate vial holder . The maximum operative temperature is 200°C, with an increment of 1°C.

The vial transfer system consists of a mobile fork carried on a bridge. This transfer system withdraws the set vial from the vial tray seat and drops it into the thermostated oven, through an inlet/outlet hole, placed at the top of the oven.

The thumbscrew allows the opening of the oven upper cover.

During the incubation time, the vials can be shaked. The left lateral panel can be removed to accede to the electronic boards.

The Head Space gas transfer device

The Head Space gas transfer device is based on the "VALVE and LOOP" System and it is housed in a thermoinsulated box. The sampling probe, the switching valve and the loop build up the manifold; it is temperature controlled and can operate at a maximum temperature of 200°C, with an increment of 1°C. The transfer of the gas Sample, from the 86.50 to the gas chromatograph, is performed by means of a heated transfer tube. The manifold and the transfer tube are heated to prevent cold spots. At the bottom left side of the unit, the program panel is placed.

On the top of the cabinet are located:

-     The Carrier gas pressure reducer knob

-     The Auxiliary gas pressure reducer knob

The Programmer

Fully microprocessored, it provides the complete control of the sampling System allowing up to four preprogrammed analytical methods. The analytical method includes all the parameter values (temperatures, incubation time, number of repetitive analysis an the same sample etc.) and the valve timing of all the operative steps (pressurization, sampling, venting etc.).

The PANEL is divided in three sections:

·        Valve timing section

·        Display section

·        Control key section

The valve timing section

The valve timing section allows the Operator to set-up the valves actuation in an analytical cycle.

The display section

The display section includes sixteen alphanumeric characters.

The control section

The control section includes seven keys and live status lamps.

The Pneumatic Circuit

The HSS 86.50 sampling system, consists of a "valve and loop" device, which allows to inject into the GC a precise and known amount of the gas phase contained in the sample vial.

Gas Lines

The gas line feeding the unit is divided in two streams:

-     CARRIER including a pressure regulator, the output of which is connected to the port 4 of the switching valve.

-     AUX including a pressure regulator, a restrictor, the output of which is connected to the electrovalve "PRESS" and then, through a Tee connection, to the electrovalve "VENT" and to the port 2 of the switching valve.

Pressure evaluation of both gas Iines is provided by an electronic pressure transducer with readout an the display.
