The LabGard ES (Energy Saver) Model NU-540 is a Class II, Type A2 biosafety cabinet that offers personal, product and environmental protection at an affordable price through high quality design, an extremely efficient motor and long lasting filters. The NU-540 features a DC ECM motor that saves energy while distributing laminar airflow across a flexible plenum, providing enough power to overcome HEPA filter loading and minimize filter changes. This design provides the user with a work area whose side and rear walls are machined from a single piece of stainless steel for improved containment and easier cleanability. Fluorescent lighting illuminates the procedure inside the cabinet, while a recess in the worktop catches liquids and a pass-through in the side wall facilitates the entry of small electrical equipment into the work area. Users can easily monitor the cabinet's performance via the Aeromax™ control system, which displays the pressure in the cabinet's internal airflow plenum. AeroMax Control System. The AeroMax Control System visualizes the pressure in the airflow plenum via a series of multi-colored lights and activates both an audible and visual alarm when the cabinet's performance deviates from normal parameters. In addition, it provides enough power to even out the loading of the HEPA filter, reducing filter changes and lowering overall operating costs. HEPEX Zero Leak Airflow System. Our special flexible plenum design complements the ultra-high efficiency motor to evenly distribute downward airflow across the supply HEPA filter into the work area in a laminar or directional pattern. The flexible plenum dampens the transmission path of vibrations and noise generated by the motor fan, protecting sensitive cells and reducing noise pollution. The HEPEX material is tear and abrasion resistant, flame retardant and impermeable to gases, liquids and dust, reducing contamination risks and making it the perfect solution for biomedical/microbiological work and mixing of hazardous drugs. All filter seals are maintained under negative pressure. In the event of a potential leak, air is recirculated back through the motor fan and into the plenum. Monolithic construction. The NuAire design is based on the use of high quality stainless steel and seam welding to eliminate leak risks associated with the use of multi-part enclosures in conjunction with gaskets, sealants and rivets.
