The Microaire Modular Laminer Air Flow System was developed to help to satisfy the increasing requirement for air cleanliness in the food, electronic, pharmaceutical, medical and industrial fields. The module provides a supply of clean air in a Laminar Flow pattern and has been designed to be suitable for a variety of applications. The module can be suspended over a filling, bottling and packing lines or over an assembly lines since the modules may be bolted together to form a continuous cover in various sizes of area to cover the working area. The modules can be either suspended from the existing ceiling support or floor mounted by optional tubular support legs.

To achieve Air Cleanliness conditions the module operates by drawing the air from the room via a prefilter positioned around two sides of the module. These filters take out the large particles to preserve the life of the main filter. The air is drawn by the fan mounted within the module above the main filter and is connected to a plenum. The air passes through the fan and then is pressurised in the plenum and is forced through the main filter to give an even laminar flow over the filter face to conform to DIN 24184 Class 'S" and American Federal Standards 209D and BS 5295 Class 1.

To assist in the economical maintenance of the unit, the filters are easily accessible for servicing the maintenance free fan system to ensure a low noise level for Operator comfort.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

CONTROL BOX

The standard unit is supplied with a built-in fan speed controller as shown in (Fig No 2). Additional to this controller an optional remote control box can be purchased so that the module can be operated remotely. The control box contains half speed control switch, adjustment for fan speed, light switch (if fitted) and fan failure alarm system. The remote control box can operate up to 10 modules.

SUPPORT LEGS

Support Legs can be supplied to make the module free standing over the working area requiring clean air conditions. The legs are manufactured in stainless steel.

PVC CURTAINS

PVC Curtains can be fitted around the filter face if the module is free standing or supported from the ceiling. The curtains help to maintain Laminar Flow conditions over the working area.

SIDE PANELS

The standard modules are supplied with two prefilter inlets mounted on the sides of the modules. Alternatively these prefilter inlets can be replaced with standard panels, so that the inlets can be re-positioned.

LIGHTING TUBE

Lighting Tube can be supplied and mounted on the side of the filter face as shown (Figure 1)

CONSTRUCTION

The main shell and side paners are manufactured in stainless steel and having a grained finish.

ELECTRICAL

220/240V 50Hz Single phase supply. Other voltages are available to order if components are standard supply. The cabinet conforms fully to the specifications for Safety of Medical Electrical Equipment, BS 5724 (1979), to the Electrical Safety Code for Hospital Laboratory Equipment, and to the IEE requirements.

FILTRATION

Prefilter is by means of a Disposable Panel Filters having an efficiency of 95% (BS 2831 Test Dust No 2).

Final Filtration is by means of a Microflow narrow pleated HEPA filter giving an efficiency of at least 99.997% or a penetration of not more than 0.003% (BS 3928) test.
