Delivery information
Prices exclude shipping costs. Stated shipping costs are to be expected. Deviations are possible. If transport costs are not specified, please ask separately for them.
The stated transport and packing charges apply to the most favorable route if transport and are to be understood as subject to verification due to unexpected cost increases. By reason of unpredictable events, cargo rates and delivery times can change at any time and therefore have to be adapted to the recent situation. Import formalities and possible customs charges will be borne by the purchaser. Incoterm coding according to Incoterms 2010: For persons who collect the devices themselves: EXW, for dipatch by sea: CFR, by air freight: CPT, other shipments: DAP. Note for international shipments: A proof of preference/EUR1 will not be issued by us. When self-collecting/ordering EXW from countries within or outside the European Union, 16% VAT will be retained as a deposit until we have received the corresponding confirmation of arrival/bill of delivery from the buyer.
Terms of payment
We do not accept payment by letter of credit, PayPal, etc. In each case the invoice amount is payable without deduction. Discount is not granted.

Now with Solid Phase Microextraction (SPME)
Three vial-size options with the CP-8410 Autolnjector
Automatically access two injectors with a single tower
The Varian CP-8400 AutoSampler and CP-8410 Autolnjector elevate GC automation to new levels of reliability, productivity, and performance. Built on the same platform design, both sample handling devices offer the same outstanding performance features.
CP-8400 AutoSampler provides high throughput with up to 100 samples. The CP-8410 Autolnjector provides flexibility with a fixed sample tray supporting 2 mL, 5 mL, and 10 mL vial sizes.
Choice of Three Sample Introduction Methods
Liquid, headspace, and SPME injections are all possible from one versatile autosampler, the CP-8400 or the CP-8410.
Five preset liquid injection modes are available: split/splitless, on-column, volatile, neat, and viscous. These pre-set modes contain the optimized parameters for specific samples. Alternatively, users may define custom injection parameters.
Reliability
Varian's new injector nut and syringe needle guide enable the CP-8400 and CP-8410 to precisely align the syringe needle over the injector. Simple rotating and fixed carousel designs eliminate complex robotics commonly associated with sample vial transfer.
The unique injector nut and simple carousels, combined with rugged construction, assure continuous, reliable operation.
Flexibility
On both the CP-8400 and CP-8410, the single syringe tower automatically accesses two independent injectors. The ability to access both injectors allows for dual and duplicate sample injections as shown in the examples to the right. Internal standards or matrix spikes can be automatically added to any injection.
Sample Integrity
Both the CP-8400 and CP-8410 sample trays and syringe needles are positioned away from all heated surfaces. This configuration prevents volatile solvent evaporation and degradation of thermally sensitive samples. Optional sample cooling and heating can be added to the CP-8400 and CP-8410 to further enhance performance.
Maintenance is Easy
Routine injector maintenance, such as septum and insert replacements, is easily accomplished without removing the autosampler!
Complete, Automated SPME
SPME is a solvent-free sample preparation technique where analytes are extracted onto a liquid phase coated, fused silica fiber. The coated fiber is then inserted into a GC injector for thermal desorption and analysis.
With automated SPME on the CP-8400 and the CP-8410, every step from extraction to desorption is precisely timed for optimum reproducibility. Sample throughput is greatly increased with automated SPME.
SPME Applications
Many applications handled by expensive, dedicated purge and trap or static headspace equipment can be done with SPME. In addition, SPME can be used for semivolatile compounds in aqueous matrices.
Applications include:
Volatile organics, pesticides, phenols, PNAs, and explosives in environmental samples
Flavors and contaminants in food
Blood alcohol, arson, and drug analysis in forensic applications
Organic volatiles in pharmaceuticals
Polymers and other industrial formulations
Automated SPME on the CP-8400 and the CP-8410 delivers more accurate results with greater throughput than manual SPME.
CP-8400/8410 SPME Performance
Powerful Control Software
CP-8400/8410 SPME is controlled by the Varian CP-3800 GC either standalone, or through the Star or MS Workstations. Both Star and MS Workstations provide easy method optimization and logging of all instrument parameters.
Maximize Throughput with Prep Ahead
Prep Ahead begins the extraction of the next sample while the current sample is running. Analytical cycle times are reduced for greater throughput.
Enhanced Semivolatile Extraction
Efficient extraction is facilitated by frequent and rapid up and down agitation of the SPME fiber. Agitation is essential for the analysis of some semivolatiles.
Easily Handle Solid Samples
The 5 mL and 10 mL vial capacity of the CP-8410 Autolnjector tray provides easier handling of solid samples.
Automated On-Fiber Derivatization
On-fiber derivatization of polar compounds, such as fatty acids and steroids, is possible with the CP-8400 and CP-8410.
