Delivery information
Prices exclude shipping costs. Stated shipping costs are to be expected. Deviations are possible. If transport costs are not specified, please ask separately for them.
The stated transport and packing charges apply to the most favorable route if transport and are to be understood as subject to verification due to unexpected cost increases. By reason of unpredictable events, cargo rates and delivery times can change at any time and therefore have to be adapted to the recent situation. Import formalities and possible customs charges will be borne by the purchaser. Incoterm coding according to Incoterms 2010: For persons who collect the devices themselves: EXW, for dipatch by sea: CFR, by air freight: CPT, other shipments: DAP. Note for international shipments: A proof of preference/EUR1 will not be issued by us. When self-collecting/ordering EXW from countries within or outside the European Union, 16% VAT will be retained as a deposit until we have received the corresponding confirmation of arrival/bill of delivery from the buyer.
Terms of payment
We do not accept payment by letter of credit, PayPal, etc. In each case the invoice amount is payable without deduction. Discount is not granted.

Introduction
Extraction is used to isolate soluble matter such as Grude fat, additives, pesticides and critical minor constituents from complex materials. Extraction analysis is traditionally based an the Soxhlet principle because of its worldwide accepted accuracy and reproducibility. However, conventional Soxhlet analysis involves tedious and time consuming manual work and explosion risks.
The patented design of the Soxtec System HT2 makes it possible to perform extractions using a wide range of solvents, in a quicker, safer and more economical way compared to Soxhlet extractions. Thus, the technique normally reduces extraction times to less than 20% of Soxhlet times and recovers 60-70% of the solvent.
High safety is ensured by external heating.
The combination of the Soxtec extraction technique and the wide range of solvent use makes the Soxtec System HT2 a flexible and powerful tool in the analysis of soluble compounds from materials such as: food, feed, soil, fibres, chemical technical products and pharmaceuticals.
Samples to be analysed are weighed into thimbles and inserted into the Extraction Unit. After solvent addition to the extraction cups, the soluble material is extracted into the solvent in a two stage process followed by a solvent recovery cycle. Finally the extraction cups are dried and weighed.
The Service Unit supplies the Extraction Unit with hot oil to achieve solvent evaporation. The tubing connecting the Extraction and Service Units, is deigned to withstand the use of hot oil, and allows constant temeratures. The lenght of the tubing permits the units to be placed in separate rooms.
The Service Unit is also equipped with an air pump for evaporation of the last traces of solvent from the extraction cups.
Function
The Soxtec System HT2 comprises:
- 1045 Extraction Unit
- 1046 Service Unit
- Extraction Cups
- Tongs for extraction cups
- Thimbles
- Thimble Adapter
THE 1045 EXTRACTION UNIT.
If the Extraction Unit, solvent extraction is done in two steps. At first the sample is immersed in the boiling solvent to dissolve most of the soluble material. In the second step the sample is raised above the solvent surface to permit an efficient washing of the sample with solvent from the condensers.
After extraction the condenser valves are closed by turning the valve knobs a quarter turn. After some minutes most of the solvent is collected in the condenser. The last residue of solvent is evaporated when the air valves are opened.
THE 1046 SERVICE UNIT
The Service Unit supplies the Extraction Unit with hot oll or water from a built in tank. The heating medium is pumped from the Service Unit to the hot plates in the Extraction Unit.
In the Service Unit there is also a pump providing an air flow for solvent evaporation.
THE EXTRACTION CUPS.
The Extraction cups are made of aluminium. Never place them an a dirty surface during the analysis. This might alter the tare weight. Before use, check that the bottom of the cups are clean and undamaged, otherwise boiling might be delayed due to bad contact.
Alternatively glass cups Gould be used (part no 1000 2291).
THE THIMBLES.
The standard sizes of thimbles are 0 26x60 mm and 0 33x80 mm (the larger thimbles is normally used for sample sizes ~~5 g). Smaller thimbles are also available (0 22 mm, length 50 mm; part no 1522 0009).
TONGS FOR THE EXTRACTION CUPS.
For inserting and removing the extraction cups the tongs (Fig. C) are used.
