Autosampler SP8880
INTRODUCTION
The Autosampler is a microprocessor-controlled modular automatic liquid sampling unit designed for use in liquid chromatography. It is designed to be part of a total System which includes a pump, a detector, and an integrator.
The Autosampler accommodates up to 81 samples, and up to 10 injections per sample in a completely automated operation. Interaction between the Autosampler and other Spectra-Physics instruments is available through the LABNETOO communications network.
SPECIFICATIONS
The Autosampler consists of a single microprocessor-controlled module, containing Keyboard and Display, the Injector Valve, Helium Degas control for flush solvent, diagnostics, and all required mechanical and electrical assemblies. Also included are a detachable flush reservoir, four sample trays, necessary tools, tubing and fittings for installation, and Operators Manual.
Capabilities include:
o 80 sample vials in four removable trays.
o Vials are identified by the quadrant and the position in the tray.
o Trays can be numbered 1 - 20 and automatically read.
o A priority sample, position 5.01, can be run without disrupting the automatic sequence.
o The Same vials can be used repetitively for calibration and recalibration sequencing.
o Full loop and variable volume injection (SP8880 only) modes.
o Samples are withdrawn by a digital stepmotor-driven syringe through the concentric sampling needle which permits vial pressurization with a gas in full loop mode.
o Automatic flush sequence after every injection.
o Variable sample draw and injection dwell rates for the analysis of viscous samples.
o Sample size, number of injections, run time and analysis file can be varied with each vial.
o Injection Volume:
Variable Injection mode (SP8880 only) - 1 microliter to 300 microliters in 1 microliter increments (1500 µL with optional 2.5 mL syringe).
Fixed Loop mode - 20 microliter standard, 10, 50, 100, 200, and 500 microliter loops available.
o Precision: 0.5% RSD at 10 µL for fixed loop mode and 1.0% RSD at 10 µL for variable volume mode. Precision values are based an a properly maintained instrument that is tested under the conditions stated in Appendix C.
o Number of injections per vial: 1 to 10.
o Minimum volume required: 5 microliters for a 1 microliter injection using an optional microvial (P/N 3115-0400).
o Sample vial: 2 mL glass with Teflon-faced septum and screwcap. Optional microvial permits sampling from limited sample volumes.
