TurboMatrix Thermal Desorbers

The TurboMatrix Tm family of thermal desorbers is based on a two-stage thermal desorption system. Sorbent tubes or tubes which have been filled with a sample can be desorbed automatically. Whole air samples can be directly pumped into the instrument for sampling. After desorption or sampling, analytes are refocused on a unique, electrically cooled, packed cold trap. No liquid cryogen is required. From the trap, analytes are injected directly onto the GC or GC/MS system. The cold trap 5 adsorbent - based in order to ensure compatibility with samples containing significant amounts of water These systems are compatible with any make of gas chromatograph and can be used with all column types ranging from packed to narrow-bore capillary. Tube sample integrity is guaranteed by sealing the sample before and after desorption . Stringent leak test procedures are performed on each tube prior to analysis to ensure accurate analysis results. The inert system flow path and the wide temperature range (-100°C to +400°C) result in unmatched applications capability. Applications include indoor as well as outdoor atmospheric monitoring and the determination of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds in solids and liquids.

Two different thermal desorbers are available:

TurboMatrix TD Thermal Desorber . Provides exceptional analytical performance in a single sample model, upgradeable to the automated version.

TurboMatrix ATD Automated Thermal Desorber . Provides exceptional analytical performance in an automated sample tube handling system for unattended analysis for up to 50 samples. Overlaps tube desorption with GC analysis for optimum productivity.
