Die HPLC-Pumpe L-6000 hat die bewährte Mechanik einer Doppelkolbenpumpe. Die Vorteile dieser Konstruktion liegen in der extrem hohen Flußkonstanz, der Pulsationsarmut und der zuverlässigen Förderung aller gebräuchlichen Lösungsmittel. Die Pumpenköpfe sind in Serie geschaltet. Eine Nockenwelle bewegt die Kolben mit verschiedener Hublänge. Der Kolben des ersten Pumpenkopfes fördert pro Hub 100 m l die zu einem Teil im zweiten Pumpenkopf "gespeichert und zum anderen Teil in Richtung Säule weiter gefördert wird. Die Bewegungen des zweiten Pumpenkopfes bewirken bereits eine nahezu vollkommene Pulsationsdämpfung
Flüssigkeiten sind kompressibel .
Pro 100 bar werden sie um ca. 1% komprimiert. Der genaue Betrag ist von der Chemie des Lösungsmlttels abhängig. Diese Kompressibilität läßt sich mechanisch nicht kompensieren. Die hochentwickelte mikroprozessor-gesteuerte Regelung der Pumpe L-6000 mißt den Druckpuls in bezug der Nockenwellensteuerung. Eine elektronische Nachregelung des Schrittmotors kompensiert die Restpulsation dann vollständig.
Zur Vermeidung von Kavitation .
Durch Verwendung von Doppelkugelventilen mit besonders strömungsgünstigem Innenprofil tritt auch bei maximalem Fluß und viskosen Lösungsmitteln keine Kavitatlon auf. Die Pumpe ist daher selbstansaugend und befreit sich selbständig von Luftblasen.
Ein Freilaufventll gestattet es, die Pumpe schnell zu spülen, ohne die Säule zu belasten oderz. B. die Reterenzzelle eines Refraktometers zu füllen.
L-6000: Einsatz als isokratische Pumpe .
Die L-6000 wird als isokratische Pumpe eingesetzt. Die Einstellung des Flusses erfolgt an Digitalschaltern. Der einstellbare Flußbereich beginnt bei l m 1/min und reicht bis zu 10 ml/min. Die Pumpe umfaßt damit die Anwendungen als Eluentenfördersystem für die Microbore-Technik über die "normale" HPLC bis hin zu kleineren präparatlven Einsätzen.
Schutzfunktion: Druckbegrenzung .
Die Förderung des Eluenten mit konstantem Flull oder konstantem Druck ist möglich. Bei flußkonstantem Betrieb kann eine Minimal- und eine Maximal-Druckbegrenzung mittels Digitalschalter eingestellt werden. DieseFunktiundient zum einen dem Schutz der Pumpe vor dem Trockenlaufen und zum anderen zSchutzderSäuund anderer Systemteile vor zu hohem Druck Der Im System herrschende Druck wird an einem LC- Display angezeigt.
Die Pumpe L-6000 kann mit einem Interface erweitert werden, das ihren Anschluß an eine L-6200 Pumpe gestattet Sie wird dann von der L-6200 Pumpe angesteuert. So konfiguriert dient sie als B- oder C-Pumpe in einem binären oder ternären Hochdruck-Gradientensystem. Auch als Hilfspumpe (z.B. zum Equilibrieren oder Spülen von Vorsäulen) in einem Niederdruck-Gradientensystem kann sie auf diese Art eingesetzt werden. Sie wird in jedem dieser Fälle von der L-6200 bezüglich des Flusses angesteuert, wohei ihr eigener Microcomputer für Pulsationsdämpfung und Flußkonstanthaltung zuständig bleibt.
Präparative Anwendung der Pumpe L-6000
Für die Pumpe L-6000 steht ein präparativer Ausbausatz zur Verfügung. Der Ausbausatz enthält neue Pumpenköpfe sowie die entsprechend stärkeren Kolben und Kolbendichtungen usw. Der Umbau ist problemlos und kann vom Anwender selbst durchgeführt werden.
