Dispatch time

The FACS Vantage TM , BDIS's new cell sorter, was designed for ease of operation and provides ample room in which to work. With its stream-viewing video camera and monitor, an eight-trace oscilloscope, a wide selection of lasers, an optional third laser, FACS Vantage uses the latest technology in flow cytometry.

You can use FACS Vantage for research applications in:

Molecular Genetics to study

• isolated chromosomes for developing chromosome-specific libraries

• normal gene expression

• abnormalities leading to disease

Cell Cycle Analysis to

•     quantify the proliferative characteristics of cells and cell populations

•     gain knowledge about the fraction of cells at risk from cell-cycle—specific cytotoxic agents, enabling maximal tumor killing and minimal normal cell death

•     quantify phase fractions, phase durations, doubling times, labeling index, and growth fractions by using modeln or bromodeoxyuridine as a marker for cell­cycle traverse studies

•     employ the monoclonal antibody Ki-67, a nuclear antigen that is found in proliferating cells, but not in resting cells
