Specifications
The AR2000ex design includes a unique ultra-low inertia drag cup motor and porous carbon air bearings for outstanding controlled stress, direct strain and controlled rate performance.

Device Specifications
The durable porous carbon bearing of the AR2000ex results in low residual torques which allows outstanding torque control from 0.0003 µN.m up to 200 mN.m with a resolution of 0.1nN.m.
The advanced ultra-low inertia drag cup motor further reduces system friction and delivers a faster transient response and an extended angular velocity
control range up to 300 rad/s and a displacement resolution of 40 nrad. The dynamic frequency range is between 7.5 10-7 and 628 rad/s.
Geometries
A 25 mm plate-plate system, a 25mm cone-plate system with cone angle of 2 degrees and several disposable plate geometries are available to be used with the electrically heated plate (EHP) temperature system. The upper geometries can also be used in combination with a Peltier bottom plate (interchangeable with AR-G2 setup).
Temperature control
The Smart SwapTM quick interchanging and selfconfiguring temperature control automatically detects the presence of the Peltier setup or the electrically heated plate temperature system (EHP). The latter can be used for temperatures up to 400° C at controllable heating rates of 10° C/min and a maximum heating rate of 30° C/min. An environmental cover and heated purge gas (nitrogen gas) allows measurements to be performed in a controlled atmosphere.
Typical measurements
The AR2000ex is extremely versatile and hence, a broad spectrum of rheological measurements can be performed with this instrument, varying from linear dynamic characterization, creep and relaxation experiments, as well as monitoring the kinetics of curing reactions or polymer crystallization, the determination of the structure of samples by means of dynamic measurements after different preshear histories or temperature profiles, ....
The device can be controlled by the Rheology Advantage as well as Trios Software.
