Description:
The Quaternary Solvent Manager (QSM) is a high pressure pump that can simultaneously pump four degassed solvents through the Acquity UPLC H-Class system. The pump can deliver gradients in eleven waveforms (linear, two-stage, four convex, four concave). Characteristics: . A gradient proportioning valve (GPV) for dynamically mixing solvents in any desired combination. The GPV produces predictable gradient segments independent of solvent compressibility and system backpressure. Solvent selection and proportioning occurs on the low pressure (suction) side of the solvent delivery system and the solvents are further mixed under high pressure in each piston chamber. An integrated degasser operating up to the maximum flow rate, with an independent channel for each solvent and an additional channel to accommodate the Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle (SM-FTN) rinse solution. An automatic, programmable seal wash. The pump wash function prevents the accumulation of precipitates on the pump pistons by washing them with seal wash solution at user-defined intervals. An electronically controlled intelligent inlet valve (i2 valve) to accelerate system priming and reduce startup times. The i2 valve minimizes disturbances to solvent flow in the inlet lines by closely synchronizing valve performance with pump operation. A vent valve that automatically switches to waste for flushing and quick solvent changes. Component. Description. 100µl mixer/filter. Mixes and filters the solvent before it reaches the pump outlet. Accumulator pump. Receives solvent from the main pump and delivers it to the vent valve. Check valve. A ball check valve that only allows flow in one direction. Degasser vent pipe. Removes exhaust gases from the degasser pump. Drain fitting (waste). Connects the waste pipeline to the leak management system. Drip tray. Collects fluid leaks. Gradient Proportioning Valve (GPV). Blending solvents to create accurate gradients, independent of solvent compressibility and system back pressure. The system includes two gradient proportioning valves, one for solvent channels A and B and one for solvent channels C and D. i2 valve. An electronically controlled ball check valve that only allows flow in one direction. Inlet manifold. A component that combines the solvents before the pumps. Leak sensor. Constantly monitors the quaternary solvent manager for leaks and stops system flow when its optical sensor detects approximately 1.5 mL of accumulated, leaked liquid in its surrounding reservoir. Low pressure inlet filters (A, B, C and D). A filter that removes particles from the incoming solvent. Mobile phase degassing chambers. Removes dissolved gases from mobile phase solvents and discharges them along with any condensates via the waste hose line. Note: Vacuum degassing can change the composition of mixed solvents. Pressure transducer cable connector. The electrical connections for the pressure transducers located on the front of the actuators. Main pump. Attracts solvent, transfers it to the accumulator pump and system as part of the serial flow design. Sample manager flushing solution degasser. Degasses the sample manager pump solvent. Note: Vacuum degassing can change the composition of mixed solvents. Sealed flushing pump. The pump that circulates the solvent to keep the actuator's high pressure seals and pistons free of contaminants. Seal flush waste fitting. Directs seal rinse waste to drip tray. Solvent vent hose. Hose that removes the solvent during the primary process. Optional solvent selection valve. Selection of up to six different solvents for isocratic and gradient applications. If present, the valve is connected to solvent channel D and allows selection D1 to D6. vent valve. A valve that automatically switches to waste during priming and a block position during leak testing Labprocure is responsible for this device.
