DESCRIPTION
1400-Series Infrared Spectrophotometers are automatic recording, double-beam, ratio recording instruments which feature microprocessor-controlled abscissa and ordinate functions, a four-digit frequency readout, and a. touch-control panel (See Figure 1-1).
The monochromator/photometer and electronics compartment houses the grating monochromator, the detector, and the associated electronics. The source compartment contains the source, the power supply and the fuses.

Index: Resets the spectrophotometer to 4000 cm -1 .
Ordinate Expansion: Used to expand or contract the ordinate scale.
Baseline/Offset: Used to set pen to desired scale position. Will calculate and display offset factor.
Single Beam: Selected by pressing the INDEX touch control when the Instrument is in the Grating Calibration/Single-Beam mode.
