The MTI Analytical Instruments P200 Gas Analyzer is a portable, dual-channel, high-speed micro-GC that provides isothermal analysis of gas phase samples. Injector and TCD are micromechanically manufactured from silicon, providing high quality and precise chromatographic components. The dimensions of these silicon devices allow the use of micro-drilling capillary columns with an inner diameter of 0.320 millimeters or less. Gas phase samples are drawn into a sample loop using an internal vacuum pump. An aliquot of the sample is then applied to the capillary column using the microvalves of the silicon injector. All analyzes are completed in less than 160 seconds, making the P200 gas analyzer one of the fastest GCs commercially available. The P200 Gas Analyzer features an internal sealed lead-acid battery and an internal carrier gas canister providing 6 to 8 hours of continuous operation. When connected to a laptop and used in conjunction with MTI's chromatography data system, the P200 is fully capable of field operation. The P200 gas analyzer has a minimum detection limit of 1 part per million for a wide range of volatile organic compounds, including xylene. A heated sample delivery system allows the P200 gas analyzer to also detect naphthalene and hexachlorobutadiene. The Trapper 2000, a portable sample concentrator from MTI, extends the analytical detection limit of the P200 to approximately 1 to 10 parts per trillion for EPA Method TO-14 compounds.
