The TM iD Tissue MALDI Spotting System in good condition is an advanced matrix spotting system for mass spectrometry imaging. It is primarily used in biomarker discovery, protein profiling, diagnostic pathology and toxicology. The system also offers touchless nano-dispensing and See and Spot™ technology. It uses industrial-grade robot technology and ensures reproducible, automated sample preparation. Data integration is carried out systematically. The FiresWire (IEEE-1394) controlled system provides movement (X, Y, head axes) as well as analog and digital I/O and vision. Using a linear motor control system with encoder, an X/Y positioning resolution of 2-4 micrometers (10-6m) is possible. The imaging system uses a color or black and white FireWire CCD camera, whose imaging optics can be used up to 5 microns/pixel. The CCD camera used has 1024x768 square pixels, a progressive scan, 10 bits and measures 44x33x116 mm and weighs 250 grams. It works with 8-30 VDC and consumes 3.5 watts (at 12 VDC). The dispenser head is non-contact with a volume controlled solenoid valve that operates at 500Hz and can produce volumes up to 2 nls. The system can dispense individually or in an array pattern with adjustable pitch-pitch distances. It can dispense multiple times with the same matrix material or dispense multiple matrix materials. The dispenser nozzle is cleaned with an integrated ultrasonic bath that offers multiple washing options. This ultrasonic bath has a capacity of 7W, 4ml and an additional ampoule position with 0.6ml.
