Dual pumps:
Pump 2 takes over the following functions of pump 1: start, stop, change of pump rate, change of pump direction
Simple continuous infusion:
While pump 1 infuses, pump 2 operates in the opposite direction and can thus aspirate medium.
A continuous flow can be generated using the enclosed hose set with passive valves.
Emulsification:
During continuous infusion, mixing of the syringe media can be achieved by directly connecting the two syringes.

If both pumps are equipped with an improved firmware chip, additional functions are available:
Extended continuous infusion:
To eliminate flow interruptions or decreases that occur during simple continuous infusion, the drawing syringe is driven at a higher pump rate than the infusing syringe. The drawing syringe is thus primed and overlaps the flow of the still infusing syringe.
Linear time gradient:
While pump 1 increases the flow rate over a period of time, pump 2 decreases its pumping rate by the same factor.
The overall pump type remains the same.
