Der neue HP 3390A kann an Gas- und Flüssigkeitschromatographen und andere analytische Meßinstrumente, wie z. B. Densitometer für dünnschichtchromatographische Bestimmungen, Aminosäuren- und Zuckeranalysatoren, usw. angeschlossen werden. Durch sein geringes Gewicht (5,5 kg) und seine Abmessungen (B x H xT 11,5 cm x 11.5 cm x 30,5 cm) ist er leicht zu transportieren und jederzeit schnell anzuschließen. Das übersichtliche Tastenfeld vereinfacht die Bedienung. Dabei wird jede Eingabe automatisch überprüft; der HP 3390A antwortet mit einem "?", wenn eine falsche Tastensequenz eingegeben wird. Der eingebaute Hochgeschwindigkeits-Thermodrucker schreibt mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 48 Zeichen in der Sekunde in zwei Richtungen. Die quantitative Erfassung von Peaks, sowie die Kalibrierung der Analyse kann für die Peakhöhe oder Peakfläche erfolgen. Der Anwender kann über Analysenzeittabellen die Integration gemäß den spezifischen analytischen Erfordernissen steuern und überwachen. Ein Speicher umfaßt die Analysenparameter, die Zeit- und Kalibriertabelle. Die kompletten Analysenparametern können dann durch eine einfache Tastenfrequenz wieder aufgerufen werden.
Mit einem als Option erhältlichen Sampler/Steuer-Modul kann der Integrator HP 3390A zur Steuerung der automatischen Probengeber-Serie HP 7670, sowie von Ventilen und Relaisschaltungen eingesetzt werden. Neben dem breiten Spektrum an Einsatzmöglichkeiten ist das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ein bestechendes Argument für den Integrator HP 3390A.
