The 7601 Hybridization Incubator allows for the use of high concentrations of probes or antibodies due to the small amount of hybridization fluid required. It is therefore valued in laboratory practice as an ideal device for precise hybridizations of DNA and RNA probes on nucleic acid filter paper, as well as for the incubation of protein blots with antibodies. It is equipped with a microprocessor-controlled temperature controller that ensures excellent temperature stability of ± 0.5 °C. A circulating fan ensures optimal temperature distribution throughout the entire work chamber. In the event of a malfunction, the temperature controller's electronic function monitoring triggers a visual alarm, the heater shuts off, and the cause of the error is indicated on an LED display. The temperature is displayed and adjusted digitally in increments of 0.1 °C via the LED display. A thermostatic overtemperature limiter protects the tubular heating element. It is conveniently operated via a membrane keypad with clear symbols. Consistent results are ensured by the constant speed of 10 rpm. The variable rotating frame holds four hybridization bottles and can be replaced with up to five tilt-resistant, pull-out shelves. The unit also features two workspace lights that can be activated via a push-button. The interior and rotating frame are made of stainless steel, while the outer casing is made of powder-coated, electrolytically galvanized sheet steel. A large Plexiglas window provides a clear view of the workspace. The standard equipment includes two clamp discs (7940), four bottles (7945), and eight spring clamps (7937).
