The Hach FP360 sc PAH/oil fluorescence probe is as good as new and has the type designation LXV441. It measures from 0 to 500 ppb in a stainless steel housing with a 10 m long cable and is equipped with a flow measuring cell on a mounting plate (LZY669). This probe detects PAH and mineral oil contamination in water and is able to monitor even the smallest traces of oil. The highly sensitive UV fluorometer is used directly in the medium, with intensity fluctuations of the flash lamp being compensated to ensure reliable and long-term monitoring of the hydrocarbons. Daylight influences are automatically excluded. The probe can be easily combined with SC controllers and other sensors. This technology offers an excellent price-performance ratio with minimal maintenance and reduced testing effort in the laboratory. The FP 360 sc offers high sensitivity and selectivity and can detect polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the range of 1 ppb up to 5000 ppb (µg/L), which corresponds to a mineral oil concentration of 0.1 to 150 ppm (mg/L). In addition, the detection method is insensitive to interference from turbid water or natural organic and biological substances that could affect the results of light scattering, UV absorption and VIS fluorescence instruments. The measurement method is based on UV fluorescence technology for PAHs and uses a miniature xenon flash lamp as the light source and a UV photodiode as the detector. The excitation wavelength is 254 nm, while the measurement wavelength is 360 nm. The measuring range covers lower values from 0-50 ppb (µg/L) up to 500 ppb (µg/L) for PAHs and 0.1-1.5 ppm (mg/L) up to 0.1-15 ppm (mg/L) for oil. The high measuring range is from 0-500 ppb (µg/L) up to 5000 ppb (µg/L) for PAHs and 0.1-15 ppm (mg/L) up to 0.1-150 ppm (mg/L) for oil. The resolution is 0.1 ppb (µg/L) in the low measuring range and the limit of detection (LOD) is 1 ppb (PAHs). The reproducibility is 2.5% of the measured value at constant temperature, with a response time of 10 s (T90). Calibration is performed at the factory using a UV fluorescence standard or by process calibration based on results from sample analyses. The temperature of the sample material can be between 1 and 40 °C or 33.8 to 104 °F, and the pressure range can be a maximum of 30 bar or 435 psia. The housing is made of stainless steel 316Ti (1. 4571) or titanium.
