The Centrifuge 5415 C is a bench-top centrifuge with fan cooling for laboratories in the life sciences, clinical chemistry, medicine and industrial research. The device is easy and convenient to operate.
18 Eppendorf Micro Test Tubes can be centrifuged simultaneously in a fixedangle rotor at 14,000 rpm (RCF = 15,800). A 24-place rotor is available for 0.5 ml tubes and a 30-place rotor for 0.4 ml tubes.
The Eppendorf Centrifuge 5415 C (Fig. 1) is used for quickly separating precipitates and liquids of different specific densities.
The standard rotor F 45-18-11 is a 45° fixed-angle rotor for 18 Eppendorf tubes with an 11 mm diameter. Maximum load per bore: 4.2 g.
There are two special rotors for tubes with a smaller diameter:
- Special rotor F 38-24-8 is a 38° fixed-angle rotor for 24 Eppendorf tubes with an 8 mm diameter.
Maximum load per bore: 2.0 g.
- Special rotor F 38-30-6 is a 38° fixed-angle rotor for 30 Eppendorf tubes with a 6 mm diameter.
Maximum load per bore: 1.5 g.
These Eppendorf rotors may only be used in the Centrifuges 5415 C and 5402.
The rotational speed is continuously adjustable from 1,000 to 14,000 rpm. Spin times up to 30 min can be set on the timer. Short centrifuging times can be regulated using the momentary switch. Upon operating the momentary switch, the centrifuge always accelerates to the max. possible rotational speed of 14,000 rpm (independent of the setting of the speed control dial).
The centrifuge is air-cooled. A fan integrated into the base of the housing cools the rotor which heats up during centrifugation. After the run, the fan cools the rotor down to room temperature.
