Description. Rotary vacuum concentration (RVC) enables rapid sample preparation without sacrificing gentle treatment. This method can be used for evaporation, drying, purification and concentration. Rotary vacuum concentration can be a real alternative for anyone who has previously worked with distillation systems, rotary scoop evaporators or freeze dryers. Distillation systems and rotary scoop evaporators use high temperatures for evaporation and work at near atmospheric temperatures. They are fast, but not particularly gentle. Freeze drying systems work at very low temperatures and high vacuum. The samples go directly from the solid, icy state to the vapor state by sublimation. This is extremely gentle, but time-consuming.
