Description:. The Reveleris X2 Flash Chromatography System is designed for the rapid preparation of complex samples using liquid chromatography. A flash chromatography separation uses a cartridge with a stationary phase such as 40-63µm silicon and a mobile phase such as hexane:ethyl acetate (70:30) at a flow rate of 40mL/min under moderate pressure (typically less than 100 psig). Although the resolution of flash chromatography is lower than that of analytical or preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), which uses 2-5µm particles, the method is extremely useful because it gives the analyzer the ability to separate gram-sized samples in a short period of time. In flash chromatography, as in analytical or preparative HPLC, separation depends on the relative interaction of the various compounds in the sample with the stationary and mobile phases. Compounds that interact more strongly with the stationary phase than with the mobile phase are more strongly retained by the column and have a longer residence time (and vice versa). Reveleris X2 Flash Chromatography Systems include a UV detector that can monitor three wavelengths simultaneously and an evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD). The ELSD allows all non-volatile compounds in the mobile phase to be monitored and compounds that do not absorb UV radiation to be detected. Operating Mode: Gradient Flash Chromatography System.
