Picture 1-1. Spectrophotometer Lambda 3

The Spectrophotometer Lambda 3 is a microcomputer-controlled registering two ray spectrophotometer, that through its conception versatilely employable as well as easy and to serve comfortably is.

The easy service becomes through a clear control panel with keyboard for the complaint of the appliance parameters and - functions and through an extensive digital ad for ordinate and abscissa guarantees.

The standard version of the Lambda 3 has a wavelength area of 190 -750 nm. An expansion of this area on maximum 900 nm is possible through an additional of available photomultiplier.

MECHANICAL ACCOUNT

OPTICAL SYSTEM

The filter unit represented in it consists of optical filters, passageway openings and the lamp change mirror of S2. The filter unit is vertically adjustable. When driving through of a spectrum of 750 as well as 900 nm until 190 nm, the position of the filter unit, necessary according to wavelength, is steered by the microcomputer in synchronization with the holographic fence.

In the VIS area of 750 as well as 900 nm until 315 nm, the light of the halogen lamp is reflected by the mirrors S1 and S2 and through which escorts necessary filters for the respective spectral area. In the VIS-area, the ray of light of the D2 lamp is blocked S2 by the lamp change mirror.

Between 190 nm and 315 nm, in the UV-area, the filter unit is postponed vertically upward so that the light of the D2 lamp reaches S1 on the lamp mirror through an opening below the lamp change mirror. At this mirror S1, the ray of light is reflected and is happened to the filter unit through an opening below the filter.

The light is focused by the collective lentil after it and is reached in the monochromator by the admission split.

In the monochromator, the light is bent at the holographic fence. The mono-chromatic light of the wished wavelength leaves escorted the monochromator through the exit split over a kollimator and plan mirror.

The mono-chromatic light is focused by the hollow mirror S3 and is steered to the rotating mirror (Chopper). The Chopper sends alternating the ray of light through the test - as well as comparison radiation walk. Furthermore, the Chopper generates one “dark“-phase through short-term obstruction of the common radiation walk.

Two identical cylinder mirrors (Z1, Z2) focus the light of every radiation walk into the cuvette plain. The light is beaming through the cuvettes with a cross-section of 1.6 cm of width and 11 cm of height.

After beaming of the cuvettes, the light of the two radiation walks is focused at the two hollow mirrors S4 and S5 and is steered S6 by the plan mirror to the photomultiplier.

Only optically completely homogeneous mirrors are used for test and comparison ray. The number of the reflections, the reflection corners and the optical length are identical in test and comparison ray. This measure guarantees optimal photo-metric conditions.

BASIS LINE PROOFS

That spectrophotometers is equipped with a basis line proof-reader. The proof-reader measures the extinction during a so-called Memorize Scan within a wavelength interval and stores the values to the correction. During the analytic registration, every measurement is corrected stored value within a certain wavelength interval about the corresponding one then before.

DEFAULT ATTITUDES

For the function buttons, certain pay values are stored as measuring parameters. These values are called default values and are gotten validity, as soon as counter POWER is put on ‘ON ‘.

By complaint about the numerical touch-tone field and pressing of the corresponding function button, the values can be entitled in the storage. Finished value inputed over the numerical touch-tone field is deleted from the storage, as soon as counter POWER is put on ‘ 0FF ‘. With appliances with the accessory safe, those remain memory in the storage ‘gotten 0 ‘of stored values for the basic attitude and the wide storage areas after relaxing of the appliance.

The default attitudes are 4-1 stated in table. After switching on through POWER, the appliance picks measuring method automatically extinktion (ABS) and scanning speed 120 nm/min.
