You are about to discover a new standard in automated immunoassay systems-the Access immunoassay system. The Access system represents an uncompromising commitment to customer-driven design excellence and Beckmans unique laboratory process improvement concept-the Power of Process.
Many other automated immunoassay systems experience compromises in their design, ultimately lessening their benefit to the lab. Random access, for example, usually results in large systems with unnecessary mechanical and fluidic complexity. Features that promote ease-of-use often lead to instrumentation that falls short of full automation.
The Access immunoassay system is designed to overcome these compromises. Through a blend of engineering simplicity, assay performance and ergonomic design, the Access system has opened the door to possibilities that, until now, existed only in the imagination.
The Access immunoassay system was engineered to meet and even exceed your most demanding performance criteria. The analyzers compact size and clean lines display intelligent engineering throughout and suggest simplicity of Operation and maintenance.
Compact design and attention to ergonomic detail ensure that every major System resource and device - samples, reagents, monitors, keyboard, reaction vessels, barcode reader and waste disposal - lie within the arc of the Operators extended arm. Operation consists of two steps - loading samples and selecting tests. Twenty-four resident, refrigerated assays allow around-the-clock, continuous, random access testing, including STATs.
Within the Access analyzer is a mechanical layout so streamlined that its design resulted in a patent application. Its carousel design allows easy placement of both samples and reagents. The single pipetting probe employs ultrasound technology to mix samples and reagents and minimize sample carryover. This creative approach to fluid delivery eliminates a multitude of moving parts and ensuing reliability problems. Sample processing takes place in an analytical module capable of multiple assay protocols while occupying a space no larger than a lap-top computer. This in turn aliows the Access analyzer to provide you with an extraordinarily broad menu and exceptional clinical performance.
Simplicity has made the system easier to learn, use, maintain and service. Because of its simplicity, the Access immunoassay System represents an analyzer second to none for performance, reliability and efficiency. With the Access system, a new standard has emerged.
In immunoassay technology, performance takes many forms. But it has one purpose: to serve the needs of laboratory professionals, physicians, nurses and, most importantly, the patients. The performance and simplicity of the Access system, coupled with the worldwide diagnostics expertise of Beckman, give new meaning to automated immunochemistry.
Among its many performance features, the Access System offers twenty-four resident assays in refrigerated reagent packs; long-term, on-board reagent stability; 24-hour system availability; STAT-interrupt capability; rapid throughput of up to 100 tests per hour; automated reagent and resource inventory management; a broad, expanding menu; and magnetic particle separation with chemiluminescent detection technology.
Dioxetane-based chemiluminescent detection (Lumi-Phos 530) is just one example of this instruments ability to push technology to the limit. While this technology is not new, it finds a unique application in the Access system. The highly-stable dioxetane substrate and the System`s flexible processing capabilities combine to provide a broad menu of assays with exceptional clinical performance, expanding menu and long-term value.
The Access immunoassay System represents more than the state-of-the-art in immunochemistry. lt defines the future. The dedication to simplicity and performance that has guided the design of the Access system ensures that it will change with your changing needs, grow with your laboratory and continue to serve you over the long term.
You will discover that the same devotion to detail found in this new generation immunoassay System also drives our commitment to service. Dedication to customer satisfaction extends from the day you first consider the Access System to installation and beyond. More than an innovative System, Access combines superior technology with the expertise and integrity of a support staffcommitted to exceeding customer expectations.
This introduction to Access has touched on a few of the most important features and capabilities of this advanced immunoassay System. Your Beckman representative has the knowledge and experience to help you fully appreciate how Access can improve your laboratory processes.
