Safety

The HT supply is fully protected against short circuits. It conforms to the safety requirements of IEC 348. The system is certified by the CSA under C22.2 No. 151 - M 1986. HT cannot be generated until all safety requirements are fulfilled. This includes the safety circuit which comprises the two independent safety loops both of which are associated with the HT key switch on the front panel of the spectrometer. In the event of any malfunction, the generation of HT is prevented or the HT supply is switched off. lt cannot be re-activated until the cause of the failure is rectified.

Control

The HT supply is controlled by the spectrometer system controller.
