AKTAxpress is a chromatography system designed for automated, multi-step protein purification of both single and multiple samples. High purity is achieved through the use of pre-optimized purification protocols for labeled proteins and antibodies. Unattended multi-step cleanings eliminate time-consuming tasks. Productivity can be increased by up to 12 parallel controlled systems. Intelligent automation enables unattended cleaning protocols from a single step to four steps. Maintenance methods can be integrated. One to four proteins can be processed in one run. Multi-stage purification delivers the highest possible target protein purity of over 95%. Gel filtration as the final step ensures a homogeneous protein and helps achieve reproducible results in downstream applications such as protein crystallization and functional studies. The modular design allows a high degree of throughput flexibility. Up to 12 systems can be operated in parallel from one computer. Each system can run the same or different protocols and each can be started at different times if preferred. The system setup can grow as throughput requirements increase by simply adding systems. AKTAxpress is available in three versions: AKTAxpress Twin - a two-module system with a computer, AKTAxpress Single - a one-module system with a computer and AKTAxpress Modul - a one-module without a computer for system expansion.
