GP40 Gardient Pump

The GP40 Gradient Pump is an integral part of a DX 500 chromatography system. It is a microprocessor-based, dual-piston, variable-Speed, gradient delivery system designed to blend and pump mixtures of up to four different mobile phases at precisely controlled flow rates. The pump can deliver the selected mobile Phase composition isocratically, or as a multistep linear or curved gradient, A Digital Signal Processor (DSP) provides high Speed control of pump flow and Pressure.

The GP40 can operate as a stand-alone product or with other Dionex modules as part of a complete chromatography system. It can also be used with non-Dionex modules that meet Interface requirements for software, TTL, or relay control.

The GP40 can be controlled locally, using the front panel keypad and display, or from a remote host computer with a Dionex

DX LANTM interface installed and PeakNet software installed an the host computer. Limited remote control is also available from any device capable of providing compatible TTL signals to control the pump.

The pump's two basic modes of control, Direct control and Method control, enable it to operate with or without reference to time-based events.

LC 20 Chromatography Enclosure

The LC20 Chromatography Enclosure is an integral part of the Dionex DX 500 Chromatography Systems. It can house the following system components, which must be ordered separately or as part of another module: Separator columns, optional guard columns, SRSTM (Self-Regenerating Suppressor), DS3 Detection Stabilizer, and detector cell(s) for the ED40 Electrochemical Detector and CD20 Conductivity Detector.

The LC20 is available in two configurations, depending an the type of injection valve installed:

•     LC30, PEEK automated injection valve (P/N 044088)

•     LC30, stainless steel automated injection valve (P/N 044171)

Eluent from the gradient pump enters the Rheodyne injection valve port inside the enclosure. From the injection valve, eluent and sample flow through the guard column (if used), the separator column, the suppressor or other post-column device, and finally through the detector cells.

The LC20 may be configured for optional dual-channel operation. It will then include a second Rheodyne injection valve and component panel. There is enough tubing in the LC20 Ship Kit (P/N 046300) to plumb two systems.

The LC20 does not require Power. Internal components are operated by the GP40/IP20 pump.

CD 20 Conductivity Detector

The CD20 is a sensitive, accurate, and versatile conductivity detector for detecting and quantifying ionic analytes in liquid and ion chromatography. It is especially useful for those analytes which lack UV chromophores and cannot be determined with adequate sensitivity by UV absorbance. This includes a wide variety of both organic and inorganic molecules; cations as well as anions. The major organic analytes are carboxylic, sulfonic, and phosphonic acids; and primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary amines. Inorganic analytes include strong acid anions such as the halides, sulfate, nitrate, and phosphate; alkali metal and alkaline earth cations. Conductivity detection, especially when combined with chemical eluent suppression, provides excellent sensitivity and selectivity for numerous ionic species, both organic and inorganic.

The CD20 Conductivity Detector is housed in a Dionex DX500 enclosure. The detector is designed to be stacked on top of other DX500 units to a recommended maximum height of four units.
